There are countless ways to tell the story of New York. For me, it’s uptown.

I’ve always been drawn to the contrast, the precision, and the seamless formality. The limestone buildings, the brass doors, the forest green awnings. The letters on a facade that haven’t changed in 70 years. There is a confidence here that doesn’t seek approval.

It carries a sense of order, history, and restraint. The same faces in the same places. The same rhythm of evenings that begin with a kiss goodnight to our kids and end with an unexpected fun night with friends or a date night with Jessie.

While the buildings, typography, and restaurants are steeped with age and history, it’s the unexpected youthfulness that remains the secret surprise, shared by those old and young, bonded by their love of the same neighborhood. This is uptown.
