The Riviera has always held a certain magic. I first discovered it through the photographs of Jacques Henri Lartigue and Slim Aarons—images of beautiful people living elegantly by the sea, in hotels, and at the beach resorts of the Côte d’Azur.

On my first trip with Jessie, we drove from Nice to St. Tropez, through Juan-les-Pins, Cannes, and Monte Carlo, with our final destination in Portofino. Like so many before us, we were chasing adventure, leisure, and romance. For us, it was the pursuit of the unknown, juxtaposed with the familiarity of those who had inspired me. It was a place where time seemed to pause, and every moment felt everlasting.
